Welcome to the AIM-LO Section 3 Self-Assessment: An Online Practice Activity in Dyslipidemia

This e-learning activity is designed to help physicians assess their knowledge and adherence to the 2021 Canadian Cardiovascular Society Dyslipidemia Guidelines. Developed by Drs. Michael Heffernan, Sandeep G. Aggarwal, Robert A. Hegele, Glen J. Pearson, and Amelia Yip, lipid experts and guideline authors, this program ensures scientific integrity and relevance for cardiologists in Canada.

This activity will allow participants to:
  1. Assess their knowledge of recent evidence around the pathophysiology of hypercholesterolemia
  2. Evaluate their understanding around novel biomarkers for dyslipidemia
  3. Evaluate their knowledge and application of the 2021 CCS Dyslipidemia Guidelines for secondary prevention
  4. Identify gaps in clinical practice in the management of dyslipidemia in the context of secondary prevention
  5. Develop strategies for medical treatment optimization for patients with elevated lipids who are not achieving LDL-C levels below threshold despite use of statin therapy
